Description

Keto Arepas are delicious low-carb bites combining almond flour and cheese, perfect for various fillings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: spices or herbs of choice

Instructions

  1. Mix the almond flour, shredded cheese, egg, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  2. Form the dough into small balls, about the size of golf balls, and flatten them into disks about 1 cm thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add the arepas, cooking for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Fill the arepas with your favorite ingredients, such as melted cheese, tender chicken, or sweet vegetables.
  5. Serve the arepas warm to enjoy the delightful fillings.

Notes

You can prepare the dough in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For cooking, you can also use an air fryer or bake them in the oven.
